Green Practice
We all know the world is changing. The mordent
developments are destroying our earth. Our environment
is endangered.
We all have our duty to protect, to improve
environment and to make it a better world to live in.
Hotel Inle has taken the leading role in Inle area
and participating actively in " Inle 20 miles green zone "
program.
here are a list of " green Practice "
in our Hotel.
Grow more trees
First, during the construction
period, we grew 2000 teak trees, 500 mango trees, 500
Lime trees, 500 Papaya trees, 1000 Banana trees and many
other local fruit trees and herb plants.
These trees not only help to conserve
the environment, but also provide chemical free fruits to
our guest. The fruit trees are in the garden of each
bungalows so our guest can just pick them and eat
freshly.
1. Soil compost
We produce our own compost soil from kitchen
waste mixed with dried leaves and organic waste. Every
month, we use at least 100 kg of compost soil produced
for our garden and landscaping.
2. Signs
All signs and landmarks in our resort are made from
recycled timber or tree trunks.
3. Organic plants
We also plant organic plants; mostly vegetables to
reduce kitchen costs.
4. Herbs plants
We have more than 30 species of local herbs with
thousands of uses and health benefits.
5. Separating wastes
We practice separating resort waste materials into
paper, plastics, aluminum cans, glass and metals.
6. Guest information
We promote our green practices to our guests.
7. Recycled tree trunks
We use recycled tree trunks for landscaping the resort.
8. Nature activities
We provide nature activities like bird watching.
9. School children's programme
We organise schoolchildren programmes for local schools.
10. Exhibitions
We organise exhibitions for the local communities on
green practices and environmental awareness.
11. Old cloth
Old bed sheet are recycled as cleaning cloths.
12. Hiring locals
We implement a policy to hire locals. Almost 90% of our
staff are locals.
13. Drip water system
We use a drip water system for watering the plants to
the reduce wastage.
14. Key chains
The resort's room key chains are made from recycled
assam tree trunks.
15. Cooking oil for lighting
We use old cooking oil for candles.
16. Recycled timber for file racks
We make file racks from recycled timber.
17. Sustainable Department
We have our own Sustainable Department with dedicated
staff to implement green and sustainable practices.
18. Replace bottle
Meetings; no more mineral bottle, now using jug and
glass.
